What’s that mean and what’s it for?
BFC is a club for fans of mechanical bicycles, powered by muscles and gravity, and shifted with levers, cables, springs and pivots. “Bicycle” here means that kind, not eBikes or electronic bikes.

Is BFC a commercial enterprise? It is for profit?
Why would you ask? Yes. We’ll conduct commerce by selling BFC-branded hats, shirts, buttons, pins, patches, stickers, and so on. All of the 2024 U.S.A. sales profits (retail price minus invoice price) go to 826 Valencia, a non-profit started by author Dave Eggers to help underserved children develop their reading and writing skills. Membership Fee
$10, and for that you’ll get a membership card, and we give all $10 to 826.
You can buy the BFC-branded hats, t-shirts, and other things without being a card-carrying member, but that’s a little weird, right? Let’s raise money for this good organization while promoting muscle-and-gravity powered mechanical bicycles.
