Shipping and Your Order

Shipping. We're Fast.

We ship Monday through Friday. During the week, we try to ship orders within a few hours of receiving them. Weekend orders go out in the early half of the following work week depending on order volume. We cannot guarantee it will go out Monday or Tuesday. Please choose an expedited shipping method if you need something sooner.

If you need to make changes to an order you have placed we ask that you please do so by phone before 10AM PST. 800 345 3918. 

Orders marked as shipped cannot be added on to and will require a new order be made. 

 

Local Pick Up

We offer local curbside pick up for customers at our headquarters during operating hours, just give us a ring a few minutes before your visit. Please select the option "Pick up" during checkout.

Eligible for smaller orders-- less than a pound, and under $40.

Choose this method if you have a PO box or APO/FPO.

$30 for Alaska and Hawaii. We'll refund the difference if any.

Rivendell is not responsible for lost or stolen packages from either USPS or UPS. You may file a claim and we’ll help how we can but the claim is your responsibility. 

 

DOMESTIC OVERSIZED ORDERS:

Rims:

$25 shipping for rims, up to 6. $35 for 7 or more.

 

Wheels:

$30 for one or $60 for two.

 

Frames:

Frame shipping is automatically set at $87 within the lower 48 states.

This rate may be adjusted depending on the actual rate at the time of shipping. 

Bikes:

Bike orders will default to $250 to the lower 48. If your actual shipping price is more, we will reach out to you for an additional payment.

 

 

BICYCLES, FRAMES, WHEELSETS, AND OVERSIZED ITEMS CAN ONLY BE SHIPPED VIA UPS OR DHL. NO EXCEPTIONS, SORRY.

International orders

All international sales are final.

 We cannot issue return labels for international customers even in the event that we erroneously send you a wrong item. You will have to pay and arrange to send it back.

Shipping rates for international orders are automatically generated and can vary. Additional shipping costs may need to be applied before the order is shipped. 

Larger items such as frames and complete bicycles will be more expensive and we will be in touch about shipping. 

 Customer is responsible for all taxes and customs duties that go along with a package. We will never call any order a gift to save on customs.

*Please understand that international air shipping on large bike parts is impractical, hugely expensive, and definitely not "green." We encourage you to buy things from your local shop when it makes sense or use freight forwarding services. Shipping a $20 Wald basket to Australia costs $100 for example and is surely available elsewhere. Feel free to email homerhilsen@rivbike.com for a specific quote. Please include your postcode and what you plan to order.

NOTES

We are based in the Bay Area, CA. If you live on the West Coast, you should receive your items in no more than 2-5 days via UPS Ground or USPS. If you live on the East Coast, you should receive your items in 5-7 days via UPS Ground. If you need an item more quickly, simply choose UPS 3-day, UPS 2-day, or UPS Next Day Air at checkout. Expedited orders that are placed by noon Pacific Time will go out same-day. We check often, but if it's, say, 3:00pm and you haven't received confirmation that your expedited shipment has shipped and you're starting to get nervous, go ahead and give us a quick ring.

 

If you live in an area where theft is a problem, please let us know and we'll see to it that your items require a signature. On orders less than $400, we don't require a signature. On everything else, including wheels, frames, and complete bicycles, we require a signature. No matter what. We cannot afford to replace your bike if it's stolen from your porch.  Delivery to your local shop or office is always recommended for bikes and frames. 

 

Please be sure that the address you ask us to ship to is correct and complete. Editing and redirecting packages will incur a $17 charge once it has left our facility.
