Will's 62cm Appaloosa

Will's 62cm Appaloosa

96.5cm PBH - 84.5cm saddle height because I always ride in thin Chuck Taylors.

I love this bike so much - all of my bikes are super comfortable but this one slightly edges out the rest and with front and rear racks and fenders its by far my most useful.

The rear rack is a sample of one we'll hopefully have in stock later this year. It's like the Nittos, but tig welded instead of brazed and a lot more affordable. I use it to carry a tripod (the legs sit in that tiny pannier and then I toe strap it to the rack) when I feel like shooting sheet film.

The handlebar is another sample - it's a 61cm Losco and it didn't quite pass Nitto's rigorous testing. We're still going to get them, even wider actually, but it'll have a 31.8mm clamp. Those are still really far out though.

That's a proto-Cazadero with the stronger brown sidewall on front and a Shikoro on back. There's little to no buzzing from the front tire but I still have enough traction to feel OK cornering on dirt.

I rode through a quarry the other day and I think that's where I picked up that nasty orange gunk on my front hub... I'll have to clean that sometime.

Other than adding the sample rear rack, I haven't changed anything about this bike in a long time, which is only exceptional because I'm constantly switching stuff out on my other bikes. I'm thinking about building up a fancy wheelset for it soon - maybe a White Industries rear, Son28 front and Velocity Quill rims. It deserves it!
