I've been riding my Appaloosa a ton lately. I just peeled off the front and rear racks, remnants from a brief bike trip in the Sierra last year, and now it's back to sport-mode.
I love the Sergio Green color, especially the subtle sparkle it has in the sun, but I'm still slightly tempted to sell this frame and get a GUG out of the latest run.
The XS Saddlesack (formerly Keven's sack) fits more than you'd think. Roman says we're bringing them back.
The total cost of these shifters and derailers is less than half of what it costs for one nasty looking electronic front derailer. No batteries, and it works perfectly.
There's a shallow dent under this sticker.
Here's how to make a pump peg. You'll need one old Nitto strut (or something similar), a p-clamp or hose-clamp, an M5 bolt and nut, and a serrated washer.
I cut and file the nitto strut into a point and then sandwich it in the jaws of the p-clamp. The serrated washer prevents it from rotating.
New Appaloosas have a pump peg here, so no DIY required if you have one of those. They have a peg in the main triangle too, so if you don't like putting a pump near the rear wheel, you can put it under the top tube.
Our Silver skewers look good, work great, and are less expensive than Shimanos.
This is Riv Crown #6. At the time of this writing, we only use them on Appaloosas and Roadunos.
More hubs came in with our Appaloosa container. If they're not back on the site now, they will be soon.
