Near perfect January 3, 2013
Reviewer: Jeff from Silver Spring, MD United States
I'm a huge fan of my Keen Newport sandals, which I wear nearly every day unless dress code prohibits.  Here in the Washington DC metro area, we experience all four seasons in their full glory, so proper socks for all temperatures and types or precipitation are a must.

I have a growing collection of varying lengths and weights of wool socks that I wear to accompany my Keens. I tried out my new pair of possum wool socks last week on a particularly cold day, and they were near perfect.

Good: soft, nice loft/cushioning, lightweight, deceiving warm out in the cold, comfortable around the house

I like a sock to either be a touch longer or a touch shorter - these are a mid-length that once the sock has conformed to the shape of my leg, will have it falling down every so slightly. That being said, if nothing changes with the design of this sock, I'd buy another pair or two without hesitation.

Possum is Awesome December 27, 2012

I was skeptical and would have passed on trying possum had it been anyone but Grant. 40% warmer? Seems so. The are as warm as my 15 year old Filson heavy 100% merino wool socks (back when Filson knew how to make socks).

These have handled runs and walk in my single soled moccasins in temps below freezing and with snow. They do not seem clammy and they are medium weight so my feet aren't bunched up in my mocs.

I've found my Filson replacements! The only measure I can't compare with the Filsons yet is longevity. I'll let you know in 15 years. But after my initial wearings, it is easy to tell inferior socks, and these are not inferior. 10-15 years looks doable.
