Soma Grand Randonneur BLUE (heavy duty) tire 650b x 42mm
The Soma Grand Randonneur BLUE has the same brownish red sidewall and tough rubber as the Force Field Fatty Rumpkin, but the GRB comes with a kevlar bead and sports a slick tread. This is essentially a super tough slick. I rode one on the back of my A Homer Hilsen for several months, and a casual inspection revealed a suprising amount of glass embedded in the thick rubber tread. Not one single flat, however (YMMV!).
For heavy-duty commuting, hard-pack trail or gravel roads, touring, hauling, every-day riding. An excellent, tough, reliable, 650b tire.
Be sure to also check out the lightweight Soma Grand Randonneur GREEN.
