55cm Mermaid Platypus Web Special

This Platypus build was specc'd by Grant, including GP's special grip treatment, and was built by our cheerful mechanic Mark. It's perfect everyday riding on most roads -- paved, dirt, or gravel. The Shimano Nexave RapidRise derailer is not to be overlooked and pairs nicely with the specc'd wide range of gears. All the bike needs are a saddle, pedals, and a basket and/or some bags to be one of the most useful bikes you'll own.

The low price is because we picked the parts and we aren't going to customize it.  If you have a particular build in mind, it's better to start from the frame up. We can add parts to the box, but we aren't going to do tire/handlebar/drivetrain swaps.

The savings here are the cost of our labor (bike assembly). We picked the parts and no labor charge. This also means no substitutions and no returns.
