You say you want to use drop bars and V-brakes and you don't like the special for linear pull but sorta bulky Tektro brake lever?  Well, until Shimano comes out with a version of their great Tiagra brake lever just for v-brakes (don't hold your breath) the next best thing is to get these Travel Agent thingamabobs.  Travel agents increase the amount of cable pulled by your normal brake levers so that you can use them with V-brakes.

Replaces the brake noodle and adds a barrel adjuster at the brake.
