Schwalbe Mara Supreme
Schwalbe tires:
a. Are really expensive to buy
b. Never get flats
c. Never wear out
d. That's only a slight exaggeration, and so
e. Despite the high cost, are cheaper to use if you ride a lot.
The Marathon Supreme is a particularly costly tire because it has all of Schwalbe's best & most expensive materials and methods in it. We sell only the 700x42 right now, and it measures not 42mm, but closer to 37.5mm when mounted on a 21mm wide rim. UPDATE: we are now selling 700x35 Supremes. The 35 actually measures to be about 33mm.
In our tire line-up, they're one notch fatter than the world-beatin' Jack Brown. Both are basically round fatty slicks. If you're looking for a fatter Jack Brown, just get the Schwalbe Marathon Supreme 700x42 (actually 37.5 or so). 495 grams.
Kevlar bead (so it folds), and a Vectran belt. Vectran is the latest greatest densest lightest toughest thorn-foiling Kevlar out there, and that also jacks the price up.
If your bike fits these, you'll never regret putting them on.
NOW available in 26" x 1.6" (36mm actual) and 700x50 (45mm actual on 22mm rim).
