Nitto Dove bar
This 52cm aluminum Dove Bar is a good bar, a lovely bar actually, but you shouldn't put it on a new one-of-our bikes because it doesn't fit bar-end shifters, and the grip area is marginally too short for cork grips and brake levers and thumb shifters, but if you can live with any two of those (or if you cut down the grips), they're fine. Get the Albatross.
The Dove needs a stem with a 25.4mm clamp. Or you need the Nitto 26.0 to 25.4 shim (part #16-095) if you're gonna use this with a 26mm clamp stem. Stem not included (Thanks for the tip Leroy!).
Here's a good question: What's the diff btw this Dove bar and the Albatross bar, at about twice the price?
Answer: Alba is made of stronger aluminum (2014-T6, for those of you with metallugical backgrounds), polished better, about 2cm wider, and it fits bar-end shifters. The Dove bar is made for the Japanese market, for puttttting around on sidewalks and narrow streets, and for slight-framed riders. It's an excellent bar for many Americans, especially women and children. We sell tons of them, and everybody loves them. But if you're a big guy, get the Alba.
Don't be put-off about the "better finish" on the Albatross bar. The finish on this is plenty fine, good enough for anybody, any bike. It's Nitto, for crying out loud!
