These have to be glued on, and that, my friend, is the only thing that keeps them from being the most ubiquitous grips in the world. Cork feels good, lasts a long time, weighs practically nothing, and you don't have to drill for oil or chop down the tree to get it.

THERE'S A HOLE IN ONE END ONLY, LIKE ANY NORMAL GRIP. If you want to put bar-end shifters in the end of the handlebar, you have to poke-ream-drill-file-carve-finagle-sand a hole in the butt end of the grip, or else you won't have access to the hole in the handlebar.
Fortunately, it is easy enough to do, the grip being cork and all.
Also, some of the photos show further modifications you can make, if you go that way. Filing a groove for the brake cable housing, and filing a slight waist or depression for twine wrap to fit into.
These cork grips are not exactly plug-and-play, in other words, but the challenges are minor, but armed with some simple tools you probably have around the house or in the garage, a little dexterity and care will go a long way.

Who wouldn't want grips-o-it?
We've used these for eight years and they're great. They shellac up wonderfully, and the taped & twined one here has amber shellac on it. Some of the pix here show possibilities with twine and shellac. The old golden brown look happens immediately with amber shellac. The tape and twine just secures the bar-end shifter cable housing, but it's not necessary. The thing is, you can come up with some wonderful, beautiful colors and textures there on the grip...just experiment. In the end, a grip is a grip, but that's kind of like saying a clipper ship and a JetSki are both water vessels.

Our catalogue has some other cork grip tips in it. But basically, you just glue them on like any other. We supply glue-ing instructions.

Shellac: Get Bullseye/ZInzer brand at a painting store. They'll have amber and clear. Amber's a good way to, as it works well for cloth tape, turning cheap yellow and toy-store red into golden brown and oxblood. But if you want to only slightly darken the color, use clear.
