MKS Touring/Cyclocross pedals
Our most popular pedal, and the one that draws the most raves, the one that liberates the most riders. It looks like a cheap rat-trap pedals from the '70s, but it's excellent quality, lasts for years of hard use. It's our first choice for off-road, city, and general rough-stuff riding. Big foot support. Excellent pedal for toe-clipless riding, too, since both sides are the same. Easy to flip into if you use clips, as most people do. A favorite around here, and probably everybody should have one bike with a pair of these on it. They always feel good and grip.
These are our widest pedals. 105mm from where the pedal attaches to the crank to the outermost part. They weigh 390 grams/pair. That's not bad.
Maintenance note: They come with a "factory/assembly line adjustment," which isn't ultra smooth. If this bugs you, get a pedal dust cap tool, remove the dustcap, and readjust the bearings. SHOULD it bug you? Nope. The price is low, and even if you don't touch the adjustment, they'll smooth out over time, and you'll get years of good hard use from them. We say, put them on and forget 'em; but rest assured, they're easy to repack/service when the time comes.
