Leather scraps abound in a place that makes stuff out of leather, and rather than throw them into landfill, we asked the Sackville baggers to make something out of them. Nothing as fancy as a big-collared multi-hued patch jacket like we all wore in the '70s; just something useful that a bike rider could use.

Many crummy bikes had these in the '40s, '50s, and '60s. Now your good-to-great bike can, too.

Colors
Honey, black, or dark brown. All with a brass snap.

Size: 9" x 1", big enough for any hub up to a fat-bodied Phil, but not all generator hubs. You can trim it to shape if you like, but this width . . . not bad.

Sold Individually.

WARNING
IT IS SCIENTIFICALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR ONE OF THESE, ONCE SNAPPED SHUT, TO OPEN UP AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

CARE AND FEEDING
BEFORE EACH RIDE ON ANY DAY WITH EVEN A SLIGHT POSSIBILITY OF RAIN, WARM THE SHINER TO 200F TO OPEN THE PORES. THEN GENTLY RUB  IN 0.4 CUBIC CM OF OBENAUF'S LEATHER PRESERVATIVE. LET COOL, CHECK FOR GAPS, AND REPEAT IF NECESSARY.

ONE WEEK OR FIVE MILES, WHICHEVER COMES SECOND.
