Brand V BarBox
For drop-bars only.
About eight years ago a customer sent us his original Tough Traveler handlebar bag, which looked like it had a hundred thousand miles on it, and said, "Best bar bag ever. Copy it." Well, we were going to, because I figured ToughTraveler was long gone, and if it were still around, which I knew it wasn't, it would be another of those American companies that quit being American long ago.Was wrong about that. They're still in biz, still in Schenectady, New York. We asked them to re-do it for us in slightly groovier materials and a slighly simpler design, and here she is: The Brand V BarBox.
It's box-shaped, with a single zipper access. The zipper turns two corners for better access, but basically, it doesn't even have to. There's one compartment, and you put your stuff there. You can ride with the zipper open, and nothing will fall out. We used samples, added some length and detailing to the attaching straps, and got rid of everything unnecessary. The result is an exceptionally easy to use, easy to attach, simple-as-all-get-out bar bag, for the lowly sum of $73.
A detachable map case comes with it. If you know where you're going, use it for photos, poems, Fusco Brothers comic strips, whatever.
Waxed cotton, military spec webbing, 3M Scotchlite reflecto-tape, and genuine Velcro, not merely "hook and loop."
Made in Schenectady just for us, by Tough Traveler. As are all the Brand V bags.
Approximately 11" wide, 7" tall and 6" deep.
