  1. 21-030a-thumb

These are made in the U.S., and most of them are worn by soldiers in Foreign Countries. They don't look sporty or woodsy, but when the task at hand is riding your bike in weather down to zero two minutes down the block or twenty miles to work, they'll blow the doors off the sporty-woodsy gloves.

The shell is water-resistant, boring black nylon for wet- and wind-resistance, the palm is top-grain (not suede) leather, for gription, and they're insulated with Lamilite, the same insulation inside the Wiggy's sleeping bag we sell. As gloves go, they're no-show, all-go. The only un-plain thing about them is a gusset or something on the thumb-knuckle, for greater thumb action when the going gets rough. Considering that they're mainly sold to soldiers, that great thumb action could either save a life or end one (we vote for saving).

They fit a little large. The first batch we got fit quite large except in the thumbs, so we called them ST (Snug Thumb) Gloves and sold them at cost. No fun, not sustainable, and no, we aren't planning a repeat of that.

These are perfect in the thumb and everywhere else, and now for the first time we have XS, which really fit well for a small.

These are the best cold-weather gloves we've worn, but we're in Sunny California, and it doesn't get super cold here. But we've had glowing reports from all over the snowy sections, too. It makes sense: They're made for the military.

Sizing:

If you have small hands, get an XS.
If you're a guy with medium to small hands, get a SMALL.
Medium hands? Medium.
Really Big hands? Large.

And if you like to wear wool gloves inside them, you can size up.

After wearing these gloves, you won't likely go back to snuggish cycling gloves. These work so much better.
