Flummox those thieves! (Flummox: to bewilder. Not quite foil)

When the skewer is closed and the bike is upright, it can't open, making this a good way to go when you lock only your frame, but not your wheels. Lock your frame so the thief can't invert it. Probably he wouldn't try--would you, if you were him?---but just to be sure.

The locking mech works by gravity. These are not total, absolute barriers to theft. But they are absolutely, positively way, way more secure than traditional skewers, and the don't cost that much more.

They're slightly more hassle to use than a normal quick-release, because there are more loose parts between the end-cap and the hub. If you had to remove your wheel several times a day, forget it. But considering how infrequently we monkey with healthy wheels, it's well worth the small hassle and price. Sold per pair only--which means maybe you don't have to lock either wheel with your frame.

All in all, it's cheaper and lighter than a second lock.

Made by Zefal--who has been around a long, long time, and doesn't make lousy things.
