All superfine merino wool, made in New Zealand or Australia just for us. It's thin enough to fit under a hat or helmet, and offers more coverage than a hat or a neck gaiter, or a hat and a neck gaiter. For temps below about 15 degrees, it's a good way to go. You can still wear a hat on top, but the good thing about the balaclava is the cheek coverage, and the warming-of-the-air as you huff and puff.

The front part that goes around your face is double-thick. These are the nicest all-wool balaclavas you'll find anywhere.

Only black, for that ninja polliwog look, as you can see.  Our cost went up a lot, and there probably isn't another retailer in the world who would mark them up so little. No smart ones, anyway.
