I have tried several different handlebars, moving towards a more upright riding position. My AHH originally had Nitto Noodles with Dura-Ace Barcons. I tried the Moustache bar first but was uncomfortable in hand and brake positions.
Keven's suggestion of the Albattross bar was a great improvement, especially adding Paul Canti Levers. But the Barcons, while ok for riding, catch every door I had to push the bike through. With Thumbies, both the Shimano and the Silver levers never felt convenient or comfortable.
When I saw photos of the stem-mounted lever Mark put together for the prototype Bosco bar, I thought he was on the right track.
Then they came up with this one from IRD. It is a gem! I can mount either the Dura-Ace or the Silver shifters and they are exactly where they need to be. I can still remember riding my first "10-speed" bike back in the late 1960's. This shifter position worked great then. It works even better now! Thanks!
