Description

This is the best, strongest, and most beautiful pannier-capable rack we've seen. Nitto makes it just for us out of 9mm tubular CrMo which is then nickel-plated so it'll look good forever.

The joints are fillet-brazed, and the stressed areas are de-stressed by triangles, the strongest shape in the world. While anything CAN break, it is highly unlikely that this rack will. Nitto rates it at 50lb max capacity. Some lesser racks are rated for higher loads, but it's different people doing the rating. We're sticking with 50lb, and that assumes proper installation and snug-enough bolts.

The connecting rods are adjustable, and installation is so simple that in more than 7 years of selling this rack, we've yet to include instructions. If you've mounted any rear rack, you can rig up this one; and if you haven't, you'll figure it out. And if you can't, then just call us and we'll coach you through it. Look at the extra photos for clues in the close-ups.

Two versions:

Medium 32R, for frames up to about 54cm.

Large 33R, for frames bigger than that.

Both work with 700c, 650B, 26"; whatever wheelsize. To know for sure what size is best, measure straight up from your rear dropout eyelet to the top of the wheel. If you get anything greater than 325mm (13") get the Large one. Otherwise, the Medium will fit best.

This is the best rack! September 10, 2012

I've used, installed, and compared at least three of the top steel racks out there.  This is not the cheapest but the best!  It is so simple and beautifully made too!  I've completed several fully loaded tours with this rack and I've had absolutely zero problems.  One tour was in S. America on really crappy roads.  The rack is still in perfect shape.  The nickel plating held up much better than my wife's powder coated rack.  This rack is worth every penny!  The front rack is top notch too!  The build quality is amazing.

A hearty svelte monster! April 2, 2012

I've overloaded this and then wholloped it into washboard and potholes and the swerving that is inherent with all that and not a single groan from the rack (I imagine I grunted a wee bit). I look forward to many, many more years of loving and abusing this fine rack.
