Although you can burn yak dung, dried moss, wood, or newspaper in the Esbit stove, your first choice should be these tablets. Break off some tiny flakes or chunks to get the flame started (like kindling), and then sit back while your food gets hot.
Although they're non-toxic, it's best to fire up any stove in a ventilated area. Each tab burns for about 9 minutes.
