5 stars for the wool. Super soft knit, luxurious hand. Color is a vibrant forest green. -2 stars for the zipper. Mechanical quality is fine, but it's not finished well inside. As a consequence, it rubs and irritates my chest. I'll go to the fabric store and find something to finish it better.. (I hope, since I think it's great otherwise.)

Not as thick as earlier versions, but much softer.

I have a pair of the old blue WoollyWarm (sp?) zip tees from 2007-2008 ("vintage"?) and they are a little thicker than this version. They were also more expensive and are nit as soft. I'm glad I have my thicker blue ones, but I like to wear this version for general wearing better!

I'm wearing this right now, just-delivered, and it's quite soft out of the box. Knowing Merino wool, it will only get softer with time. It feels on the thinner side of middle-weight wool, and is very comfortable. I think the best attribute for me is the sizing - I am 6'6" tall, with long arms. The XL size could not fit me any better, the sleeves come down just past my wrists, and the bottom will get tucked well into my shorts or pants. A good one, I will get another - especially if they come in Black.

Fantastic sweater-shirt-thing. I got this for the coming winter after being dazzled last Christmas by the red WoolyWarm three-pocket jersey. This one is just as good, despite the absence of pockets; and maybe it is even better, BECAUSE of the absence of pockets. (Layering over it is unweird, and you don't get that thing where the wallet riding on your tailbone bumps the nose of your saddle when you climb.)
There's something magical about this thickness of merino. I've worn it from 35 to 70 degrees, and it always seems just as warm or just as cool as I need it to be.
