These New fit Musa pants are relaxed fit compared to our Old discontinued Musa Pants.

All are zipper tapered at the bottom.

They're designed for riding, but are thankfully lacking in all those unnecessary details that shout that out to the real world: They're loose, not tight. There's no sewn-in crotch pad. We offer black, but not only black. They're far more for riders than for people who want to look like riders, and unlike almost all bike-specific clothing, they look as normal as all get-out in a grocery store or restaurant (but maybe not a fine restaurant). Their only concession to a bikey look is the reflective strip on the back lower side of the leg, but it's far more obvious to drivers at night than it is to normal people during the day. And if you hate the reflective strip you can easily pull it off with scissors, but why?

Musa pants are super light, lightly textured nylon. They never get hot. They're cut full enough to not restrict you. They dry in a flash if they get wet, and they're not even too hot when it's 83-degrees out there.

You can wear them off the bike anywhere when formal wear isn't called for.  The legs are on the long side, so if you need a large for the waist size, but your legs are short, they'll be too long. In that case, get the new style knickers, and even buy up a size. The new knickers are cut longer than the old ones, and in fact make fine pants. I/Grant can fit a medium pant, but I don't like anything touching my butt. The large pants are on the long side. My genius solution: L and XL knickers. I like them both, but...slob that I am, I lean toward the XLs. I'm 5-9 1/2 x 188 with a pbh of 84.7 and a waist of 34...or so.

Nylon. Waist sizes are approximates, since they have adjustable elastic belts. If you are a guy, buy the same size pants as you do skivvies, and you will be fine. Women, please use sizes here-

             Waist (in)    Inseam (in)     Rise

Good pants, need tweaks April 16, 2013
Reviewer: Kurt from Boulder, CO United States
I bought these for a three-week tour last fall, and have worn them for shorter trips since then.

Off the bike, they feel quite long, but on the bike, they provide great ankle coverage.  They're comfy and lightweight, and look acceptable when you pop into a restaurant or store.  I like the narrow cuffs with their reflective tape, and the grime-hiding color.

Some things could be improved:
* The light fabric makes the button back pockets difficult to button and unbutton, especially with one hand.  Velcro or zipper would be better.
* The ankle zip pulls are big, and flap annoyingly when I pedal.  The pulls should be smaller and lighter.
* The seat is showing signs of wear already.  For riding pants, the seat always wears out first.  I'd like to see a seat made of heavier material.

Mine also had a minor defect, tiny bits of melted nylon at the knee tuck seams that rubbed annoyingly on my bare knees.  I was able to pull off the offending bits, and I assume this is not typical.

The Camino June 11, 2012
Reviewer: Dario Silva from Las Cruces, NM United States
Just finished a 12 day ride on the Camino de Santiago. Took a pair of New Musa Pants (butterscotch) and a pair of New Musa Shorts. Wore the shorts for biking 60K/day and pants for lounging after a long days ride. The pants were stylish on the air plane ride, Tapas Bars and Churches.  Did not have to wash pants or shorts but once. Dried super quick. Very light to pack. Could not have asked for better clothes than this for biking and or hiking. Thanks for getting my order to me just in time for my trip. Excellent customer service!

Highly recommended!! February 11, 2012
Reviewer: Ken Jacobsen from Tempe AZ
These pants are great -well designed and great materials. I'm 6'5" and they fit even me well.
Being nylon they'll not only last forever and don't retain sweat I understand nylon offers UV protection as well. That's big here in AZ.

I hope these aren't discontinued!
Thanks for making and selling a great product.

New MUSA Pants December 10, 2011
Reviewer: Ray Shine from San Francisco
All in all, very nice pants. I have been using the MUSA pants for several years, and I am glad they are available now in brown.  The new pants are just as nice as the old, and I like the extra room. I hate tight clothes. They old were a bit snug. I bought large this time, even though I normally wear medium, so I could get plenty of length, which I do have.  My only complaint is the zipper ankle closures do not stay secure and they are driven slowly open by the wind. I liked the old velcro closures better.
