Money on the books for you?
October 17, 2007
I'll make this short, but here's the story: If you are a paid-up member and you bought stuff from us last year (2006), then the computer automatically calculated a 5% merchandise credit based on how much you spent, and put it on your account.
The computer totaled your purchases from Jan 1 thru Dec 31, 2006. On or about January 10, 2007, it issued a merchandise credit on your account for 5 percent of your 2006 purchases.
We don't mail out these credits; it's not on paper; but we've mentioned this before, and many of you have taken advantage of it.
But every week a few orders come in from people who are happy to find out, and surprised to boot, that they have $68 of credit already.
If you don't use it by the end of the year, it will evaporate as automatically as it appeared, so think: Did you buy anything last year? If you did AND you've bought stuff this year, then you know about it, and have fed off it already, maybe used it all up.
There's no way you can place an order this year and have the computer miss the credit from last year.
That's all, and here's the summary:
• If you were a member last year and bought something, the 'puter calculated a 5% merchandise credit in for you.
• We don't mail it to you. If you don't use it, you _____ it.
• It goes away on December 31.
Anyway, just so you know. Better to remind you of this now, than mid-December.
