Salmonish wool shirts

February 27, 2009

ALL SOLD OUT! THANKS, EVERYONE!!

We wanted these lightweight short-sleeve wooly t-shirts to be as red as the thicker long-sleeved red ones are, but they came salmonish instead. Salmon's not a bad color, but it wouldn't make many people's top five list. Still, not bad.
We told the maker, he said OOPS because we'd talked about "red, not salmon" before, and so he said, "If you keep them I'll cut the bill in half," so we kept them, and are offering them to you cheap.

Consider:

- it's still a great base layer
- the color is hi-vis, but not cheap looking
- soft, not scratchy. Made in Australia.
- if it came out right it would cost $55. Yours for $25.
- and we will donate ALL of the proceeds to Nepalese Youth Opportunity.

"Proceeds" means every penny of your $25. It's more than "profit. It's the most it can be, and it all goes to a great cause.

NYO's main focus is sexual slavery rescue and prevention. It's a lot like Somaly Mam Foundation, but it's in Nepal, not Cambodia. Same kind of work, though, and it's a highly rated charity, in the sense that it's effective and doesn't waste the money on high administrative costs. We (Rivendell) have given to them before, and we always investigate charities, to make sure they're as good and efficient as they ought to be, as they say they are. Here's more on NYO, but in any case, the deal is: You buy the shirt for less than our cost. We give ALL the money to NYO.
