The last of the Quickbeams

January 22, 2009

We've been so focused on Hillbornes and Foys the last couple of months, that we forgot that we have some Quickbeams coming, too. This is our last production run of Quickbeams, so if you want the only single-speed bike that is really a four speed, this is your chance.

They will be silver. They are scheduled to arrive in April.  A $300 deposit gets you on the list, and a bike just in time for Late Spring-Early Summer riding. -John

There are eight sizes:

50, 52 -- NEW SIZES -- with 650B wheels and sidepulls (still same clearance)
54, 56, 58, 60, 62, 64, 66 -- with 700C wheels and cantilevers.

There will be two new braze-ons, too: A mid-seat stay rack mount, which is quite handy for the Top Rack or a Mark's Rack; and then our latest favorite, a kickstand-plate/chainstay bridge, which serves the same chainstay-bracing function as a chainstay bridge, but lo and behold, allows you to mount a kickstand neat and tidy, too.

The continuing enfeebling of the US dollar against the Yen allows us to declare with no uncertainty that this will be the last of the Quickbeams.

There are 70 of them. Divided by eight sizes, that's six to ten per size, with the sixes at the ends of the range. We've presold about 25 of them, and take deposits for about two to three per week. At least four that employees here are buying one, too. There aren't that many left.

It won't be the last time you see this kind of bike/frame from us, but it will be the last of the Quickerbeamers, and we won't have a less expensive replacement for at least a year.  The price is $1,600 for the whole bike, minus saddle and pedals.
